Responsibilities:
- Manage the ongoing process of licensing the rights to entertainment content (master recordings, images, video) for Moderati’s downloadable content catalog
- Actively pursue and negotiate licenses with key global content owners such as record labels, top tier independent labels, TV networks and movie studios
- Manage carrier relations and licensing teams
- Actively pursue, secure new and strengthen existing mobile for Moderati’s content catalog, including Tier 1 and Tier 2 wireless carriers in the US and internationally
- Establish new online distribution channels in the US and internationally
- Stay up-to-date on governmental regulations and legal rulings concerning digital content and their implications on Moderati’s payment obligations
- Work with licensors on new initiatives outside of downloadable personalization content, such as iPhone application development
- Coordinate efforts with internal teams to bring compelling licensed content to the carriers and secure features and promotions
- Work with licensors and carriers on new initiatives in branded entertainment in digital and mobile
- Play major role in royalty reporting process, providing the finance team with expertise in Moderati’s distribution channels, licensor rates, contractual obligations, legal implications and familiarity with our content catalog
Requirements:
- MBA or law degree required
- 8+ years relevant experience required
- Travel as required to support business 30%+
- Strong negotiation skills
- Must be aggressive to meet sales goals, and work well independently
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong presentation skills and ability to create compelling messaging to drive customer interest
- Highly organized, proactive, with attention to detail and thorough follow-through
- Proven leader with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to work with and maintain confidential information
- Excellent network of content owners and distribution partner
- Experience in contract drafting and negotiating
