iPad Paves Way For Skype Over 3G On The iPhone
Apple (NSDQ:AAPL)'s new iPad isn't making everybody happy, but iPhone users with a preference for Skype may have new reason to smile. According to Skype, the company will finally be able to offer iPhone 3G call support thanks to the updated software development kit (SDK) that Apple is providing for the iPad.
"The new version, 3.2, removes the restrictions on calling over 3G, which is great news," wrote Skype's Peter Parkes in a posting to the official Skype blog Wednesday.
The iPhone has swamped AT&T's data network and sparked a consumer rebellion. What can Ma Bell do?
In mid-December, Fake Steve Jobs, the alter ego of widely read journalist and blogger Dan Lyons, posted the following appeal to his fellow members of iPhone Nation: "On Friday, Dec. 18, at noon Pacific time, we will attempt to overwhelm the AT&T data network and bring it to its knees. The goal is to have every iPhone user (or as many as we can) turn on a data-intensive app and run that app for one solid hour. Send the message to AT&T that we are sick of their substandard network. …Join us and speak truth to power!" Soon thousands of hooligans—or if you prefer, frustrated customers paying AT&T (T) as much as $150 per month—took to Twitter and Facebook to join up.

Dorado: One more key to the Microsoft mobile puzzle
For those attempting to decipher Microsoft’s mobile roadmap, there have been codenames galore to decode. Pink. Turtle. Pure. Rouge. Zune Phone.
There’s one codename that isn’t brand new, but is still a key piece of the Microsoft Mobile puzzle: Dorado. Dorado is the codename for the Zune HD interface software for the PC. (Here’s a video about Dorado that even refers to it by its codename from Central Planning TV, one of the agencies working with Microsoft on the Zune HD branding/marketing.)

It should be no surprise that four of the top five animal pitchmen come from Budweiser. Anheuser-Busch produces cute talking animals that sell beer like former Denver Broncos coach Mike Shanahan produced 1,000-yard running backs.
(Just missing the top 10 is the mutt who is trained to bite a guy’s crotch and steal his Bud Light in the 2004 “Good Dog” ad.)
While he didn’t make the top of the list, it should be noted that party animal Spuds MacKenzie had the most impressive amount of crap associated with his name for sale on eBay.
